What it is

Vesperite is an ore whose nodes are often found on high tunnel ceilings, according to Washbear. The studio uses it to explain a practical effect of train height: building taller brings players closer to resources that may be out of reach on foot. That is a location and access relationship, without a published use for the ore itself.

How it was revealed

Update 014 names Vesperite on 4 August 2026 in its train-height section. After discussing extra space for gardens and machines, the studio adds access to elevated resources as another reason to build upward. Vesperite supplies the example; the post does not introduce an ore-processing or crafting system alongside it.

How it connects

The direct connection joins tunnel ceilings, resource access and a taller train. The studio says train height can bring otherwise distant resources closer, then points to Vesperite nodes. It does not say a taller train is the only way to reach every node, or specify which equipment extracts the ore once it is within reach.

Open questions

The location wording is ‘often’, not a promise that every tunnel contains Vesperite or that it appears only there. Update 014 gives no extraction requirement, deposit map or recipe using the ore. Train height explains the access example, but cannot establish a mandatory platform design or a particular building height.
