What it is

Oxygen appears in Railborn’s published survival systems through a Nexus expansion and O₂ tanks. Washbear describes bonus oxygen as allowing longer breathing. A later private-playtest report names tanks, but does so through a bug involving a player stacking them. The posts establish oxygen equipment and an improvement to breathing time without defining a complete air-supply system.

How it was revealed

Update 006 introduced bonus oxygen among the Nexus expansions in November 2025. The following month, Update 007 reported feedback from friends-and-family testing, including the unexpected tank-stacking bug. That second account records something a tester tried; it does not turn the behaviour into an intended equipment feature or confirm that it remains possible.

How it connects

The explicit progression connection is the Nexus: the studio lists bonus oxygen among the abilities it helps expand. The tank report adds equipment to the picture but gives no relationship between tank stacking and Nexus progression. Neither post explains how oxygen relates to suit power, so these remain separate subjects rather than interchangeable names for a shared meter.

Open questions

Tank capacity, refilling, equipment slots and depletion rules are not specified in these announcements. The stacking example cannot support advice to carry or combine extra tanks, since Washbear labels it a bug. As reviewed on 7 September 2026, the useful distinction is between the announced breathing extension and the unintended behaviour documented during testing.
