What it is

Information towers reveal local Core locations and track layouts in Railborn. Washbear Studio describes reaching them as potentially tricky to navigate, with information as the reward. The April announcement distinguishes what towers currently reveal from extra information the team could add: dungeons and cryopods are examples of possible reveals, not a confirmed part of the tower reward.

How it was revealed

Update 010 describes the tower reveal on 5 April 2026 while the studio is revising its information towers. The team says revealing everything could undermine exploration and leaves the decision open to player feedback. Update 014 then uses the name Map Towers when discussing ways to find Atlas bases. This later connection adds a purpose without publishing a complete list of map markers.

How it connects

The published connections are navigation, local Cores and the search for Atlas bases. Track layouts relate towers to the branching railway and its junctions; the August base announcement suggests seeking Map Towers when base locations are not obvious. The source does not say that every base is automatically revealed. Map Towers also have a different stated role from bypass towers, which indicate most secret track bypasses.

Open questions

The approach to a tower may be navigationally difficult, but the April post gives no universal access route, required item or named tower hazard. Its established reward is local information. As of the sources reviewed on 7 September 2026, the coverage of each reveal and the conditions for finding bases remain unspecified; dungeons and cryopods must not be treated as guaranteed tower discoveries.
