What it is

Train platforms provide room for Railborn’s production and collection of biomes. The Nexus update names them as an essential part of expansion, making the train a growing base as well as a vehicle. This describes their purpose, without establishing platform sizes, attachment rules or a fixed arrangement that every train must follow.

How it was revealed

The July 2025 rooftop update describes unlocking and building more train cars, leaving their style and purpose to the player. In November, Update 006 explicitly connects platform expansion to the Nexus and to production and biomes. The two announcements establish customizable train growth, while leaving its full construction rules for later explanation.

How it connects

Platforms give the growing systems somewhere to live. The later biome update describes plots on different train cars, where crops and ecological elements form a local growing environment. Engines are separately linked to greater base size. These statements explain why expansion matters, but they do not establish how many plots fit on a platform or how a biome crosses between cars.

Open questions

The reviewed posts do not give platform recipes, dimensions, weight limits or a complete catalogue of available shapes. They also leave the relationship between a platform, a train car and added floors partly implicit. A construction demonstration with those boundaries visible would be needed before publishing building measurements or a recommended train layout.
